Permits
Permits are required for most work done within the Cormorant Lakes Watershed District (CLWD). Please consult with us for any questions. Review our rules for more information.
No Action, works, or use requiring a permit shall be commenced before the issuance of the permit, except for emergency repairs necessitated by storms, floods, or water, electrical, and sewage system failures. The District should be notified of such repairs as soon as practicable.
There is no charge for the permit. While some basic permits can be issued quickly, it's best to allow for a full 14-day permit review. There can be significant fines, legal issues & costs, shoreline restoration, or other expenses for doing work within the District without first obtaining a permit. CLWD expenses incurred due to violation or remediation will be fined and recouped from the property owner.
The applicant may fill out the form at the following link HERE.
An email address is required in order to receive a copy of the permit. The permit form can be filled out by an agent on behalf of the owner as needed. CLWD Managers and Staff will review the permit and may take up to 14 days in the review process. Please contact admin@clwd.org for more information on permits.
Permits can be denied if improperly filled out or incomplete. Permit applications are available only online. We no longer offer paper permits as of June 1, 2025.
